Many milennia ago, the elven lords of Rosamund, and their ancestors, were a part of an ancient empire of Eldamar. Many of them held important positions in the imperal court, taking part in the creation and upkeep of the ancient Eldamari beaurocracy.
The ancient Rosa were called such, because the first lords flew a banner decorated with an elegant flower, a rose whose thorns wrapped around it as if it were shielding it's beauty.
With the fall of the First Empire of Eldamar, many of the elven lords saw themselves ousted from their comfortable positions of power, their wealth and resources rapidly falling to war and attrition as the elven nation-states faught amongst themselves.
While many of the lords scrounged for power, the ancient Rosa took their chance upon the open sea, looking to find an open land for their own to develop, absent of what they saw as the reason for the failure of the First Eldamari Empire. This would be the last time the Rosa elves remained in contact with their homeland for the forseeable future.
After several months, hundreds of deaths, and many who saw no end of the strife in sight, the Rosa Lords saw themselves land upon an island covered by a lush greenery, a jungle unnaturally overgrowing the land it occupied. The Rosa saw themselves quickly settled into a small village, assembled roughly from their deconstructed ships, and scrounged materials kept from their lengthly overseas journey.
The elves who settled on these lands quickly found themselves in the middle of a forgotten land, which hidden gods made their playgrounds. The local fauna were strange, aggressive, much unlike anything they've seen. And they quickly saw that the overgrown flora was not only natural, but almost seemed to have a mind of its own.
The early days of Rosamund were rife with constant struggles against the local landscape. The wildlife of the land were predatory, and saw the weak, battered elves as fresh prey. It wasn't until the second year of the settlement that the elvish gained the upper hand. A young child of twelve years, bloodied and close to death. stumbled upon a cave, where a large snake slept, who eventually revealed themselves as an avatar of Cōātlīcue, the Mother of the Gods, She who had given birth to the lands of Kalrania, as well as the stars and the moon, and would eventually give birth to the God of the sun.
the Mother would give her blessing to this small child, in the form of Teotl, a source of power direct from the gods, almost seen as a touch of divinity, saving the child's life and forever altering the future of the Rosamund.
